The Webre ancestors came to the U.S. by boat around 1720 from Fort Kehl near Strasburg, Germany. After arriving in Biloxi, MS, they came to New Orleans and went to work for Bienville.

Charles Francis Webre, 43, of Woodlake Villas, Hilton Head Island, SC, died September 29, 1994 at his home. He was a native of Falls Church, VA, and was the son of Martha Webre of Melbourne, FL, and the late Joseph Charles Webre. He moved to Hilton Head Island in July 1994 from Alexandria, VA.

Charles was a graduate of Bishop Denis J. O'Connell High school, Virginia Commonwealth College, and was employed by Fairfield Inn on Hilton Head Island.
